If your new here, Hi, I'm Clare

I have been printmaking in the East Midlands for over 20 years and have a background in Fine art. I am passionate about original artwork that can empower and inspire.

I create limited edition artworks combining the figure and nature. Rich oil-based colour works in harmony with thin Japanese paper, the prints are fragile yet strong; and surprisingly tactile. I love to leave evidence of the process of the artwork's creation, marks of carved lino create life and energy.

I am deeply interested in being present and living with curiosity, I make art that celebrates our humanity while reminding us to reconnect with nature, and go with the flow.

I believe that filling our homes with beautiful artwork can remind us to slow down and embrace the present moment.

What collectors say

  • Do you ship internationally?
Yes I do, I love to send work all over the globe! The prices vary, so you can get the most up to date information in the shop. International orders will be dispatched within 3 days. Please note that shipments outside the UK may be subject to additional import taxes, which are the buyer's responsibility. These taxes are calculated based on the full monetary value of each item. Please consider these factors before placing your order.
  • How will my purchase be packaged?
I want your artwork to arrive in perfect condition and provide an enjoyable unwrapping experience, regardless of any bumps during transit. I take great care to protect your handmade artwork. Prints up to A3 in size are shipped flat with a piece of acid-free card to ensure their safety. Larger prints are rolled and sent in a postal tube with acid-free tissue paper and newsprint. Upon arrival, these prints may need to be flattened out. To reduce waste, most of my work is sold with biodegradable cellophane, and printed cards are delivered "naked" wrapped in tissue.
  • What if my item hasn't arrived?
Sometimes, postal delivery may take longer than expected, especially during holidays or due to industrial action in the UK. Most items usually arrive within 2 weeks in the UK or 4 weeks outside the UK. However, if your item hasn't arrived within that time frame, please get in touch with me, and I'll investigate the matter. You can reply to your dispatch email, or contact me at
  • What if my item arrives damaged?
In the rare event that your order arrives damaged, don't worry. I'll do my best to resolve the issue. Please keep the artwork and take photos of the damaged packaging and items. Send the photos to, and I'll ensure you receive a replacement or a full refund.
  • What if I change my mind?
Your satisfaction is important to me. If you're not completely satisfied with your purchase, you can return it within 14 days of receipt, no questions asked (excluding custom-made orders). Simply email me at within 14 days of receiving the item to inform me about the return. Make sure to return the item within 30 days of receipt. Please keep the original packaging in good condition and send the item to the return address on your item. Remember to obtain proof of postage when returning the item and pack it securely. You'll be responsible for the return postage costs, unless the item is damaged or faulty. If you wish to cancel an order, please contact me as soon as possible. If the order hasn't been shipped, I'll issue a full refund. Once the order has been shipped, it will be subject to the returns policy mentioned above.
  • What is a hand pulled print?
Hand-pulled prints are fantastic! It refers to an artwork created using traditional techniques such as etching, woodcut, screen printing etc… rather than a digital reproduction. I primarily work in Linocut which falls under the umbrella of hand-pulled prints. The artwork is carved into a piece of lino using specialist tools, this creates raised areas that will hold onto the ink. Now this is where the magic happens! Ink is applied to the surface using a roller, and then a piece of paper is placed over the top. Pressure is applied to the top using a ‘baren’ which is a flat disk that allows even pressure to be applied by hand, or using a press. Linocut is a hands-on process, each print created is a unique piece in its own right with slight variations. I consider it a ‘remake’ rather than a reproduction.
  • What is an AP?
Artists' proofs are like a secret treasure for art lovers! I get super excited to see them as they are a snapshot of the process. When an artist creates a limited edition print they will take an initial impression which may then be carved into further, or the artist may alter the colours having pulled what is essentially an experiment. This is a way of experimenting, and these unique variations are labelled as ‘AP’. Artists may also set aside a print for themselves, and label it as an artist-proof outside of the edition. Ultimately- the artist's proof is a unique and exclusive piece outside of the edition.
  • How can I tell is its an original linocut artwork?
If you look carefully you will be able to see the layers of ink on the surface of the paper, it has a unique texture that can't be reproduced. The artwork will be editioned, the artist will have signed it in the bottom right-hand corner in pencil to confirm the authenticity. I also add a certificate of authenticity to the work with extra details, such as the date of creation, inks and paper type.
  • What is an edition?
A print edition is like a special collection of artwork, it means you can own a piece of art that is both unique and limited. When an artist creates a hand-pulled print, they often decide to create a limited number of pieces, forming what's called an edition. Each piece is made using the same matrix, such as the lino block in my artwork. While the artist aims to recreate the image similarly as possible in an edition, the process does mean that there are variations, meaning each is unique. Editions are typically numbered and signed with numbers to indicate their piece's position in the set, such as 2/10 indicating it's the second print out of a total of 10. I rarely do editions over 10 as I want you to own something truly unique and limited.
  • What does the print size represent?
Often the print size will is the paper size, this includes the image and the surrounding border. In my shop descriptions, I include the image size and paper size specifically to help you visualise the piece and understand the scale. I like a piece of artwork but does it come in a different size? Because each print is created using traditional processes from a hand-carved piece of lino, they are original artworks, and for this reason, they will only exist in the size that they are created. I do however work in a range of sizes within a series, with artworks that complement each other to offer different options when choosing your artwork.
  • How much is the postage in the UK?
I offer free postage in the UK for all orders over £15. For orders under £15, here are the postage fees: Second class letter £1.00 (For all cards) Second class: £1.50 First class: £2.00 Signed for: £3.50 All orders are dispatched within 3 days through Royal Mail in the UK. Please note that the orders are handmade and posted from Nottingham.
  • Does my artwork come framed?
I offer unframed prints. I believe in giving you the freedom to express your unique style, when you purchase an unframed print you can choose a frame that complements your home decor and matches your taste. All of my artworks are made to fit standard-sized frames so you can choose to buy one off the shelf or use a bespoke framing service which also supports local framers who can provide their expertise in choosing a great frame. You can enjoy an original piece of artwork for a more affordable price, allowing you to enjoy beautiful art without breaking the bank. I want to ensure your artwork reaches you in excellent condition, unframed prints are lightweight and easier to handle during shipping, and buying work unframed brings peace of mind that your beautiful art will arrive safely. I love to connect with customers all over the world, and providing work unframed means it can be safely shipped across the globe.
  • Will my print stand the test of time?
I want you to love your artwork for a long time, so I take care to use materials that will keep it looking its best. I use Caligo safe wash inks, these are oil-based but water washable and non-toxic. They are designed to have excellent colour vibrancy and have been tested for lightfastness using the ‘blue wool scale’, the inks I use score above a 6 which means that your artwork will remain vibrant, and continue to tell its story for years to come, even with a generous dose of light exposure! I only choose archival papers, which are acid-free and made with high-quality fibres. This preserves the integrity of your artwork and won't yellow over time. Often I will use Awagami factory papers because of their exceptional quality, the paper is thin yet strong and made with sensitivity to the environment. If you wanted to be sure that you are keeping your art really safe, keep it away from moisture and extreme temperatures. You could also consider getting a frame with UV protective glass.
  • How do I handle my artwork when I receive it?
Your print will either arrive flat in a biodegradable cellophane wrap backed on board or rolled with acid-free tissue paper. Make sure you handle the work with clean hands and unwrap on a clean surface. Hold your print at the edge, avoiding touching the printed area. Prints are delicate, so be careful to handle with care. Ensure you protect your artwork from moisture.
  • What payments do you take?
To secure your order, payment is securely processed at checkout through PayPal or via credit card. Rest assured that I use SSL secure shopping, ensuring the security of your data.
  • How is my refund processed?
Once the returned goods are inspected, a refund will be issued to the same payment account used at checkout. While the refund will be processed immediately, please keep in mind that bank processing times may vary,
