Beautiful figurative limited-edition silkscreen unframed print on paper, ready to frame this will make a wonderful addition to your home with the subtle colours and textures of the urban space having a strange beauty with the figure emerging from the texture.
The work is handmade, beginning as a figurative ink drawing. I am drawn to urban spaces and the beauty of the decay tracing the passage of time, I document these through photography and infuse the found textures with colours that symbolise growth energy and healing on photoshop, and finally I incorporate the figure and finalise the image. I am fascinated by transience and trying to capture moments within this, encouraging pause and reflection amidst change.
This is part of a series of work, you can find other pieces in my shop including smaller works. Each is a limited edition, handmade using stencils. As they are not reproductions they are only available in the size that they are created in.
I use a process called CMYK, this is a process where my image is split into 4 colours (cyan, magenta, yellow and black) and stencils are created for each colour layer. The stencils are exposed onto a fine mesh screen using UV light and printed by hand in the studio. The handmade nature of the process means that each print differs slightly. As a limited edition- the matrix is destroyed after the edition has been printed.
This limited edition is made up of 10 prints in total and is a variable edition, each is numbered, titled and signed by the artist in pencil at the bottom. Each one is slightly different (noted by the VE by the edition number)
With a paper size of 62cm x 42cm it is designed to fit into a standard frame and looks great with a mount, or in a box frame. The image size is 40cm x 28cm
Archival inks on a 315gsm heritage paper means that the colour will not fade.
Please note: the print is sold unframed (the image is to illustrate how the print will look once framed only) please be advised that colours may vary slightly depending on your monitor settings. As work is handmade there may be very slight variations to the image shown.
I aim to ship within 3 days, work is sent rolled to ensure it gets to you in the best condition, as it is a very thick paper it will need to be unrolled and placed flat as soon as it arrives.
